From humble beginnings in October 2000, Clearly Contacts started with not much more than a computer, a phone and a ping pong table. Today, Clearly Contacts is the premiere online retailer of contact lenses and glasses. Their mission is simple: to deliver the highest quality eye care products at the guaranteed lowest prices anywhere on the globe. When you want fast, friendly service and great prices, they want you to think Clearly Contacts.
OBJECTIVE
To create awareness about a new and better way of buying contact lenses and glasses. To let people know Clearly Contacts has made the process of buying contact lenses and glasses fast, simple, accessible, convenient and less expensive. The number one objective is to increase revenue.
STRATEGY
To build awareness with the contact and eyeglass wearer who would never consider buying these products online since over 90% of wearers purchase from traditional retailers.
RESULTS
95% increase in sales from Q1 2008 to Q1 2009. Brand awareness in Q3 2008: Vancouver 27%, nationally 14%. Q1 2009: Vancouver 42%, nationally 17%. The variable in the major increase in Vancouver of 15% was Clearly Contact’s use of transit to advertise their services.
